PYC + Community

A key part of the Petoskey Yacht Club's mission is giving back to the community. We are committed to helping with important community initiates by raising money, sponsorships, donating our time and promoting key activities to our Membership. Here are some of our community partners and initiatives: 

This year, with the help of Ben Doornbos, one of our PYC Board Members, we sponsored two local kids to participate in the Little Traverse Sailors in Harbor Springs this summer. LTS is a community sailing program open to all and offers an incredible learning experience. Sailing lessons focus on  building lifelong sailors in a safe environment. We are excited to build a great relationship with the City of Petoskey and the Marina to help them executive safety programs that will support the waterfront and our community. 

Petoskey Yacht Club is working with The Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council on an important cleanup initiative. The Council speaks for Northern Michigan's waters and is dedicated to protecting our lakes, streams, wetlands, and groundwater through respected advocacy, innovative education, technically sound water quality monitoring, thorough research, and restoration actions. They achieve their mission by empowering others and we believe in the capacity to make a positive difference. This group works locally, regionally, and throughout the Great Lakes Basin to achieve our goals. To learn more:
